Back Home
Jackson was discharged last night around 6:00pm. He was is great spirits and was happy to be home. If last night was a good indication, the surgery appears to be a success. Jackson went to sleep after we gave him his pain medicine, and slept great for about 3 hours. He did not snore, nor did he have any apnea episodes throughout the night. The only thing that woke him up was coughing or the need to swallow after coughing. We would calm him down and he would fall right back asleep. We are keeping our fingers crossed, but are very optomistic about his nights after the recovery period is over. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!

Update
Jackson had his adnoids and tonsils removed today. The surgery went well and Jackson pulled through like a champ. He is sleeping without oxygen right now, and the only thing that seems to be waking him up is the discomfort from coughing and swallowing. We are hopeful this will relieve the apnea. We are in the pediatric intensive care unit at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta, so they are able to monitor him closely. If he does well tonight, we should be able to go home tomorrow.

Back Home
Jackson was discharged today. We made it home around 6:00pm, ate, and gave Jackson a bath. After 4 days in the hospital, he was due for one. They monitored Jackson using his cpap mask last night. They put it on around 9:00pm, after letting his displeasure be known, Jackson settled down and fell asleep about 10:00pm. He did quite well and didn't wake up until 2:30am. However, once he realized his mask was still on; he agin voiced his displeasure. We took it off and he went back to sleep until 7:30am. As the doctors agreed that wearing the cpap for 4-5 hours on his first night was good. So we were out of there! Thank you again for all of your thoughts and prayers. If Jackson could I know he would thank you as well. God Bless!
